Twenty-five years keeping large networks up: carrier backbones, financial-market connectivity, data-center fabrics and, lately, cloud-delivered security. Most of that time was spent as the engineer of last resort for accounts that cannot afford downtime. Today I apply the same discipline to systems built around language models: small deterministic gates, evidence before claims, and humans who ratify rather than retype.
